| Title | What's Your Story? | Stories They Will Remember - Connecting With Others Through Storytelling | "Your Club: Your Team" | Overview of Competent Communicator |
| Description | When the Department of Labor conducted a 30-year study of workers in America they discovered that the average person will hold between 10 and 12 jobs in their career, depending on education and gender. Today it is far more frequent for someone to change jobs every few years than to stay with one employer for 20 plus years. How do you prepare yourself for a job transition now? Prepare for the next step of your career by developing job transition skills now. Listen to someone who has successfully transitioned through a number of professional positions. The interviewing skills, knowing what questions you will most likely hear, knowing what questions to ask, plus the personal storytelling techniques that Dan Toussant has cultivated, will be useful to nearly every professional person planning their career, whether someone wants to change jobs right now, or would wisely prepare for that future situation right now. | This program will support the communication track by giving participants the necessary tools for development of meaningful stories. The program focuses on the realization that storytelling has been used as a powerful learning tool for centuries. Everyone has a meaningful story within them and this program will assist the participants in their ability to utilize their own stories to complement and support their speeches, presentations, training sessions, and meetings by causing the audience to become entrenched in the content of the presentation and relating to the meaningul insights for which the story was told. | The concern about attendance and membership is a universal concern. No matter the club or district, we all want to have more committed members. Let's take a look at how a sports team accomplishes this and let's copy their model. Let's make everyone a member of our team. | Do you feel as if you're the only one freaking out as you proceed through the Competent Communication manual? Would an overview of the ten speeches help you overcome your fear? Will I really feel tompetent? It is manageable when someone explains the purpose of each speech and how skills build off one another. Attent this workshop and hear all about it. Maybe even come away with some ideas for each of the upcoming speeches in the CC manual. An overview will help you chart your course with advanced manuals and the fun really begins. |
